Several Team Bath AC athletes made the crossing to Cardiff to compete in the first day of SW England & Wales Indoor Championships at the National Indoor Athlete Centre in Cardiff. Top prize of the day went to Kieran Carter who secured the Gold medal in the U15 High Jump on count back with a PB of 1.70m.
Rory Howorth and Jonny Evans achieved double silver and bronze respectively in the U17 shot put and then the 200m sprint. Both achieving PBs in both events on the day.
Charlotte Longden also secured a double bronze in the U17 shot and High Jump with a PB of 1.45m, beating team mate Sophie Martin on count back. Sophie also ran in the 200m with a time of 29.59s.
Notable achievements also went to Joel Mattacks with a PB in U17 200m with a time of 26.25s. Whilst Eleni Frances jumped 4.36m in the Long Jump, and then ran 29.48s in the U15 200m. Tsevti Melton then ran in the U15G 200m in a time of 31.65s.
Day 2 (including the short sprints and hurdles) will be in the new year, with the U20 equivalent next weekend. We wish all athletes competing the best of luck.
