Team Bath 365 Junior Academy

Athletics has something for everyone but if you are aged 7 years to 14 this is the best way to start. From long jump to high jump, sprinting to long distance, hurdling, throwing and pole vault.

Experience them all through this youth development programme, which introduces athletes to the fundamental skills of athletics and also provides a solid foundation for all other sports. Some of Britain’s most successful athletes started with run, jump, throw perhaps the most familiar being Jessica Ennis.

Sessions

In groups of around 15 of similar age groups led by our qualified coaches the sessions focus not only on how fast someone runs or how far they jump or throw but more importantly on developing the technical skills.  Athletics 365 also looks at an athlete’s physical, mental and emotional development.

Not all young athletes develop at the same time but the club aims to provide a streamlined athlete development pathway through the 365 Academy to an event group with the track & field specialist coaches. Talent identification is in consultation between the 365 Coaches, Event Group coaches and the Coach Coordinator.

Our 365 sessions run on either a Sunday morning from 9.30-11am or a Tuesday or a Thursday evening from 6.30-8pm.

365 Structure

The athletics 365 programme is broken down into stages that the athletes work their way through as they progress through the groups. This provides progressively more difficult challenges as the children learn all the skills for each individual event, and reinforces the importance of a good all round skill base.

Due to high demand the 365 Waitlist will be closed until the new year
